Thanks to the dozens of islanders who filled the PARC meeting yesterday in support of public acquisition of 75 acres of forest on Hwumet’utsum – Mount Maxwell and the INCREDIBLE YOUTH who stood up front and asked for this land to be set aside for multi-use trails. We are so proud of the Community Collective that has formed around this initiative — conservationists working with mount bikers, equestrians making friends with disc golfers, housing advocates attracting philanthropists… the list goes on. PARC has been a great partner so far and we hope they vote to formalize the purchase in the coming weeks.a
