The LTC (Local Trust Council) – the parent body our two Salt Spring Islands Trustees sit on, is looking for community feedback to help them set priorities.
This is an amazing opportunity to let them know that providing affordable housing solutions now is a huge priority for our community and essential to preserving our unique island way of life. Solutions can be found in ways that respect the environment so that we can build a truly sustainable community viable for generations.
The LTC wants to establish 3 core themes to set the priorities for staff to work on new bylaws. We need affordable housing to top that list! Water and Climate change are also very important themes and all of these are interrelated.
There will be a town hall session where you will have an opportunity to express your views on priorities. And then there will be a round table session to help distill these priorities and associated policies.

There will also be a survey sent out for those who can’t attend this meeting in person. We’re happy they are offering multiple ways to contribute, and as soon as we see the survey we will promote here and via our email list.
